Core Responsibilities:
Segments and optimizes the portfolio of materials through ABC/XYZ analysis, product lifecycle management, and commercial policy.
Defines inventory policies based on the specified segmentation.
Calculates and maintains the inventory parameters, including safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead time, and replenishment strategies, in the planning systems and the ERPs.
Collaborates with buyers to achieve the best possible supplier performance in terms of supplier on-time delivery, Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ), quality, lead time, and flexibility.
Coordinates material planning with call-offs to ensure that purchase requisitions are converted into purchase orders in collaboration with operations buyers and services.
Manages materials resource planning exception messages on a daily basis.
Supports cycle counting and/or year-end inventory counting.
Makes financial risk assessment decisions related to inventory and conducts root cause analysis when necessary.
Analyzes excess and obsolete/aging inventory.
Takes appropriate action for optimizing inventory performance, in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing and Procurement and Logistics functions.
