Performs regular safety inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and local regulations. Monitors safety performance metrics, analyze health and hygiene data to identify trends and areas for improvement and report findings to SLT and above site senior management. Ensure the site’s activities compliance to all relevant Health and Hygiene (Biosafety) regulations and standards (local, state, and company). Develop and implement local policies/procedures related to Safety, Health & Hygiene to manage, prevent and controls workplace hazard risks and main business interruption threats. Create and apply systematic improvements by safety and hygiene standards & requirements in engineering standards. Conduct risk assessment and implement measures to mitigate main identified risks (legal, social, reputational) by identifying, assessing, preventing and monitoring the process hazard risks (explosion, fire, accidental releases, potential Health and hygiene hazards…) to ensure safe working conditions and business continuity. Identifies, anticipates, evaluates and controls local processes (manufacturing, control, storing, etc.), environmental factors or stresses in the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health or impact on wellbeing. Lead and monitor the exposure assessment programs (API, CMR, OEB 4&5, chemicals handling, biological agents, Noise, Ergonomic, etc.) and drive management reviews. Leads investigations into accidents, incidents, near-misses and health-related incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Develop and Lead emergency response plans, including procedures for chemical spills, fires, and other emergencies specific to pharmaceutical operations. Lead & promote a culture of continuous improvement in safety, health & hygiene practices by providing training, education and/or relevant program to all employees (Machine safety, Fire safety, ATEX, KSE, Anoxia, Health and Hygiene best practices …). Implement new safety, health & hygiene technologies and methodologies to enhance overall safety, health & hygiene performance. Monitor & Communicate safety performance and initiatives to internal and external stakeholders, including employees, regulatory bodies, and the community if relevant. Lead and manage Health & Hygiene (Biosafety) program including training, coaching, capabilities developing and performance evaluation which drive an excellence operating mindset (by implementing Leading safety program, zero access program, etc.). Oversee Occupational Health and Hygiene (Biosafety) monitoring programs, including regular health check-ups and occupational health assessments for employees and conduct meetings with the local internal and external stakeholders. Establish metrics and monitor data to identify trends and issues and to implement action plans. Lead & promote health and wellness initiatives, such as vaccination programs, mental health support, and healthy lifestyle campaigns. Lead the site’s HSE management system and documentation to ensure full compliance with Sanofi requirements & processes, adoption and adherence to Mosaic program. Ensure the site HSE management system’s compliance with all the relevant external stakeholder's requirements and standards (ISO certifications …). Act as the primary HSE contact for certification bodies. Coordinate the local HSE process owners’ network. Connect the site process owners with the Communities of Practices managed at Global level. Drive the HSE Culture program: coordinate the HSE culture maturity assessment, elaborate improvement plans, monitor their implementation. Coordinate a reliable HSE performance reporting of all HSE data consolidated and published at the company level. Collaborate with the other site stakeholders in charge: HSE, Engineering, P&C … Construction Safety & Contractor Work Management: Lead and oversee all construction safety activities on site; Develop and implement contractor safety management policies, procedures, and permit-to-work systems; Conduct pre-qualification assessments of contractors; Review and approve contractor HSE plans, risk assessments, and method statements; Perform regular site inspections and audits of contractor activities; Manage and monitor the permit-to-work system; Investigate construction-related incidents and implement corrective actions; Ensure all contractors receive appropriate HSE induction; Monitor contractor HSE performance through KPIs; Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, and contractors; Ensure proper management of construction-related hazards; Drive a strong safety culture among contractors; Maintain accurate records; Interface with regulatory authorities; Evaluate and continuously improve contractor safety management processes.
