This role is for a materials scientist to support innovation projects at Corning's Taiwan site. You will develop material characterization techniques, optimize processes, and work on cross-functional teams. Depth of knowledge of characterization of materials by various analytical imaging techniques such as SEM, TEM, FIB, Microprobe and Optical Microscopy. Ability to demonstrate communication and collaboration skills by achieving designate results through a highly matrixed project team. Ability to effectively leverage internal and external resources to achieve deliverables.

Work with internal cross-functional teams involved in the innovation process of new concepts and products. Work with other project team members on understanding and solving project related issues. Utilize internal/external lab facilities and equipment to develop proof of concept prototypes. Execute project assignments with minimal supervision. Work in a team-based environment and participate on a highly matrixed project team. Investigate prior art and document any Intellectual Property developed as part of their project activities. Document project learning, progress, and results in technical reports. Present the project(s) they are involved with for review by peers and managers. Characterize surfaces, morphologies, structures, and compositions of various samples using standard technologies. Manage chemicals and safety manners.
