Collaborate with Product Management, Finance, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to set product cost target and guardrails.
Drive initiatives with the Cross-functional Team to create a detailed cost reduction plan to meet or exceed product cost targets. Work alongside the Cross-functional Team to identify the cost implications of engineering and process changes. Conduct regular cost reviews with Executive Management and thoroughly analyze every aspect of your product costs. Plan and manage tooling budget and spend. Architect and establish a solid Supplier Plan of Record (SPOR) for the product(s) along with Engineering, Software, Supply Chain, and other Ops functional teams to ensure time-to-market, supply continuity, manufacturability, scalability, and sustainability. Coordinate with EMS partners to determine the product purchase order cost for xVT builds. Manage purchase price variance claims due to engineering changes, component obsolescence, or forecast discrepancies. Drive successful implementation of the SPOR during the development cycle through mass production prior to transferring to sustaining team.
