As a Senior/Staff Accountant in EY's Risk & Regulatory Assurance team, you will conduct independent reviews and assurance engagements for financial institutions in Hong Kong, focusing on HKMA and SFC regulations. You'll assess internal controls, prepare reports, and advise clients on regulatory compliance and risk management. This role offers exposure to the banking and wealth management sector, with opportunities to develop expertise in regulatory risk.
Bachelor's degree preferably in Accounting/Finance/Risk Management/Business Management or related majors; At least 2 years' relevant experience in audit/risk advisory for financial services; Knowledge and experience in Banking and Capital Markets or Wealth and Asset Management; Detailed understanding of HKMA or SFC requirements; Experienced in controls and assurance related regulatory projects; Strong report writing and communication/presentation skills; No record of administrative penalties from regulators.
Taking ownership on work streams on engagements; Working as part of a larger team and day-to-day communication with clients; Taking responsibility for the conduct of reviews and preparation of reports according to EY methodology, making oral presentations of findings/recommendations to client’s management team(s); Identifying the impact of forthcoming regulatory change, and support clients on the potential impact; Identifying and testing key systems and controls for demonstrating compliance with applicable SFC/HKMA regulations; Assessing and advising clients in building a holistic governance and risk management framework in response to remediation of findings and/or evolving regulatory requirements; Contributing to business development including bidding proposals and go-to-market materials.
Professional qualifications such as CPA, FRM, CFA or equivalent; Experience with regulatory bodies.
